CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled POSITION: Technology Teacher SALARY: DOE REPORTS TO: PSIS Principal LOCATION: Paschal Sherman Indian School; Omak, WA Basic Functions: Incumbent is directly responsible for planning and implementing a course of instuction designed to aid each student he/she is assigned, to meet the schools' goals and objectives for their assigned grade level and/or courses.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Training: Requires incumbent to possess a current valid WA State Teaching Certificate for Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
Requires a valid WA State Drivers License, be eligible for the Tribes' insurance, and maintain throughout employment.
Requires obtaining a First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
MUST submit proof of degree/transcripts/certifications and 3 written letters of reference upon applying.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires knowledge to teach students to use technology for classroom assignments and projects.
Requires knowledge to assist teachers to better utilize technology in classroom instruction throughout the grades.
Requires knowledge and skill to develop a scope and sequence for technology instruction.
Requires ability to ensure PSIS prescribed math curriculum is being implemented.
Requires ability to mentor and model effective math instructions.
Requires ability to assess math data to help teachers make informed instructional decisions.
Requires ability to set up systemic obsercation schedules and provide trachers with constructive instructional feedback.
Requires ability to align and monitor tutoring, after school, and other math support programs with the learning needs of the students.
Requires ability to assist with professional development in math.
Requires ability to participate in curriculum development.
Requires ability to enforce the rules and regulations of the school.
Requires the ability to provide for individual differences in students.
Requires ability to maintain appropriate records.
Requires the ability to maintain order and discipline.
Requires ability to evaluate student growth.
Requires ability to pursue continued professional development.
Requires ability to select and use a variety of instructional support materials.
Requires ability to make contact with parents when necessary.
Requires the ability to develop immediate and long range goals Requires ability to utilize principles of learning.
Requires ability to accept all duties assigned by supervisor.
Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality and must sign PSIS Oath of Confidentiality.
Requires ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Supervisors and Subordinates.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing.
In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.
In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.
If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
